Verlie Rose Cullom 64, of Roanoke Rapids, died Friday, May 17, 2012.

Verlie, a native of Halifax County, was the daughter of the late Freeman Lester and Blanche Mildred Johnson Rose. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lassiter Cullom.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn E. Cullom and her partner, Lindsey Brown, of Roanoke Rapids; her sister, Audrey R. Hux and her husband, Lee, of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, Lester Rose and his wife, Sarah, of Roanoke Rapids and Arthur Rose and his wife, Jean, of Cary; two sisters-in-law, Edith Jenkins and her husband, Billy, and Gwen Hubbard and her husband, F.D., all of Lake Gaston; two brothers-in-law, Phillip Cullom, Sr. and his wife, Carnation, and Davis Cullom and his wife, Alice, all of Roanoke Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
